Worldcolor is closing down its 770,000-square-foot facility in Dyersburg, Tenn, getting rid of 789 roles by the end of first quarter 2011.The company provides printing services to catalogue and mag publishers, and revealed nationwide titles including Cosmopolitan, Popular Technicians , Forbes and Good Housekeeping at the Dyersburg facility.
Montreal-based Worldcolor start the facility in Dyersburg in nineteen eighty six when it was known as Quebecor World Inc.The company filed for Chapter eleven insolvency protection in 2008, and modified its name to Worldcolor after developing from Chapter eleven last July.Worldcolor close its plant in Covington, Tenn, last summer, getting shot of 347 roles. It also shut down its facilities in Memphis and Olive Branch later on in the year. Those facilities employed 117 and 240 folk .
In Jan , Sussex, Wis.-based Quad / Graphics Inc. Voiced it was taking Worldcolor in a deal that's expected to shut sometime this summer. The exchange, together with lower volumes in the printing industry, led on to the choice to shut the Dyersburg facility. Quad / Graphics has recounted it was closing down Worldcolor plants in Canada and Ohio to try to consolidate its facilities.Worldcolor officers couldn't instantly be reached for comment. The corporation's notice of redundancies appeared Monday in Tennessee's weekly layoff report from the Dept of Work and Workforce Development.
