You are endeavoring to do your job and somebody has it out for you.They talk adversely about you, try and undercut your authority and give you brief answers. They hate you and they're making it known both to you and to your colleagues. You are so stressed and exasperated about the situation that you consider leaving the organization. In a last ditch effort you wish to do something to settle the issue.
It is tough to wake up in the morning and be positive at work when you are feeling like you have got to look over your shoulder every couple of mins. If you make a howler the bully finds it and exposes it for everybody else. Trying hard to get an answer out of the bully about some work related problem is like attempting to fix your own auto - it just won't work.
There are ways to respond to a bully. You have 4 courses of actions that have their individual risks . You can go to your boss, you can confront the individual, you can pay no attention to them and you can become as rude and evil as they are. Ensure you are clear about what plan of action you should take because just two are probably going to work.
Going to Your Supervisor : you usually have the choice of going to your chief or to the human resource dept. The Corporation has a responsibility to make a safe and fair office. Bullying could cause a "antagonistic work environment " that both opens up the company to suits but also causes good workers to depart. Before making a rash decision like giving up it is usually a good concept to let the company handle its responsibilities.
Confronting the Bully : nobody would suggest you close the door, trash the desk and give the bully a "piece of your mind". Instead, it is preferred that you arrange an appointment with them and try and resolve these issues in a pro demeanour. Tell them about your sentiments, ask them about theirs, and see if you can agree to get along. More times than not the issue will be fixed because misunderstanding will be cleared up.If the difficulties aren't resolved at about that point then you have done your duty and can feel better about taking the higher road.Pay little attention to them : there's a chance that if you forget the person they'll find some other person to choose on. it's not recommended that you do this because there's a higher risk that they'll get worse, you'll get stressed or there'll be a future clash. Become Rude and Unpleasant : Actually you have it within you to become as rude and evil as that person. Yet if you join in this behaviour and your employer gets annoyed it is possible that the two of you will become unemployed. To take part in behaviors that you're not acquainted with will not make you feel better about yourself nor will it get much resolved.
