Graduate college to first job

Congratulations on graduating, and being smart enough and hard working enough to earn a school degree! Now, stand by for that next rite of passage which is finding that first job straight after graduation.Below is some advice that are shared from my personal experience to help transition quickly into your first job and get rent and bills paid in good time.

Above all, don't get daunted from the difficult jobs of landing a job quickly and all the refusals that come with it.It is really easy to let your own thoughts get the very finest of you and drive yourself insane about why you cannot find a job but try hard not to over think your current position or any type of refusal. Take comfort in the proven fact that you can not actually know for certain why an employer selects other applicants and just push on.Fortify your spirit by taking timeout to rest the brain and body with well needed breaks to gain distance and clear point of view of your present position and surround yourself with good folk that help you stay positive in this hard challenge.

Like many varsity grads, I went thru lots of the common steps of job-seeking. I scoured the net for hours loading resumes in info systems for starter level work, wanting that fortunate break. I hung out with my old teachers hoping they knew of anyone that could help my scenario and I called other jobless chums for comfort and to stay hopeful. Wanting a well earned break, I went to Borders Waterstone's one day and luckily stumbled on the book, "What Color is Your Parachute, " a must read, all-embracing book on the mandatory talents of job-hunting. Purchase a copy and read the valuable info insdie that's wanted to win.

After enough highlighting and reading, I followed the methodologies that helped me get to 2nd round interviews and land decent job offers and also realized all of the mistakes I had made before reading the book. Reading the book doesn't transliterate into firms knocking at your door with 6 figure income offers so please don't be misled. The reward for reading the book is arming yourself with new information that may help you put new focus in your attempts to landing that, "Yes, you are hired! ".

In my case, like many others, I joined a temp agency which helped act as a delegate to contacts which I never had before to help in my job hunt. Going forwards and backwards with emails and telephone calls, I shortly had a few little job offers which was more than I had before. Some of the roles I abhorred and other roles I loved and I knew I was getting closer to landing a dream job with the wealth of novel experiences, some good and some bad, that were gained from each job.

Landing the dream job is an expedition by itself but for now, being out of university and on a diet comprised of Starbucks and Top Ramen noodles, the 1st task is to get a job quickly, get your main account back in the positive, and get your debts paid on time to realize some standard of quality living. Good luck on the major effort and take solace in the truth that only thru extreme pressure can diamonds be made.
