The Truth About Magic Wands

The Truth About Magic Wands

Those among us who are acquainted with the Harry Potter series remember how excited Harry was when he got his new wizardry wand before beginning his first year at The Hogwarts College .For those that are less acquainted with the series, the wizardry wand is a big thing. It makes life a lot less complicated for young wizards.Well, back in truth, we are awarded our wizardry wands at the end of college. Here, in the land of muggles ( mortal humans ), the wands are known as varsity degrees.

I got mine in English Lit. One chum of mine got hers in Criminal Justice. Two others went on to earn Master's degrees, one an MBA. My large sister got hers in fashion merchandising. All her life, she has known she wished to buy garments for a living. She got hired during her senior year, has worked her way up for a similar company since graduation, and is now a consumer in N. Y. 2 sorority sisters focused on pre-med.One is now a surgeon, the other an OB / GYN in Atlanta.

With my degree, I worked part time at a local paper, making ten cents per word to scribble almost three articles, with photographs, per issue. Later on I worked shipping boxes, and then at my local police dep., both part time. Now I'm employed full time, though not in my degreed field, and I'm back at school fulltime. My squeeze with the Criminal Justice degree worked as a social worker, an aerobics instructor, a personal coach, and is now an underemployed housewife. Master's degree number one teaches English as a second language in Korea. MBA, if I recollect correctly, works at the post office. My sister, the purchaser, and my mates, the doctors, are uncommon, but no less real. And they merit it.

I have revealed that fact could be a troublesome road with rude twists and oppressive turns, if a degree is all we arm ourselves with to make preparations for the trip. We'd do well to think about ourselves better supplied for the remainder of the journey if we have got the resolve to drive on. Resolve to pay some dues as an hourly wage when necessary. Resolve not to give up when you are passed over for somebody clearly less qualified. Resolve to concede to the chance that you may not be the best qualified. Resolve not to settle. But only if you think that you merit it.

As for the sorcery wand, it's very good to show off when company comes, but do not expect it to replace tough work, good timing and plain old style luck. The ideal job is unlikely to jump off of the shelves with a little pointing and waving.
