More than one thousand youths from Cuyahoga County applied Thursday for minimum-wage summer roles offered by the non-profitable Youth Opportunities Unlimited.
The Cleveland-based organization, which concentrates on youth workforce development in the town and inner-ring suburbs, commenced its yearly job initiative this week with an internet registration.
Officers hope to hire 1,200 teenagers between the ages of fourteen to eighteen for four- to six-week summer roles in ecclesiastic, medical care, upkeep, retail and recreation positions, related Craig Dorn, the group's VP.
"For plenty of these children, it is going to be their first work experience and they get an opportunity to find out more about what it is like to have a job and the responsibility it requires, " Dorn related.
For the 1st time, the company is using a web registration process to gather info on potential workers. A PC will at random choose the teenagers who get requested interviews by the end May. Dorn asserted he expects the group to get around ten thousand applications for the programme. "we all know for sure that providing these roles help with a teenager's self-confidence and capability to do better with their college and life, " Dorn claimed.
