Contractors searching to secure new placements in the private sector within the coming twelve months could be among those encouraged through the publication of a new report. XpertHR's most recent annual HR roles and responsibilities study indicates that hiring staff and improving recruitment procedures would be the top priorities for private sector companies in 2011, Personnel Today reported.
The research also suggested that the private sector may well need to take up the slack developed by government spending cuts with public sector organisations more cantered on cost savings and change management.
XpertHR’s employment relations editor Noelle Murphy, told the news provider: "We would anticipate some dissimilarities in relation to priorities for the coming year within various sectors, but this season the sectors are polar opposites.
"HR in the public sector is undoubtedly geared up for a difficult year, with all of our respondents talking about change management, restructuring, redundancies as priorities and , cost-cutting, even though HR within the private segment appears to be focusing once again on core problems for example leadership and organizational development."
