Hiring Will Increase in the Second Half of 2011

More United States firms across the nation will recruit employees in the second half of 2011 than past year, based on the latest survey unconfined on Thursday. But headwinds remain for the 9.1 % of Americans who remain jobless as less than half – forty seven percent -- of United States firms plan to recruit employees this year. The forty seven percent figure is up 6 percentage points from past year.

Prospects for employees in the information technology, sales industries and customer service were strongest, the latest survey showed.

Employment in all segments and all geographic areas was running above past year's pace. For example, some thirty eight percent of employers in the South premeditated to recruit full-time, permanent workers this year -- up from twenty seven percent past year.

"Whereas elevated energy costs, inflation and debts other factors might deter a noteworthy acceleration in recruiting, employers have cheering news for the millions of Americans who’re looking for jobs," CareerBuilder CEO Matt Ferguson asserted in a declaration.

One encouraging sign from the survey: in spite of the enduring economic malaise, few firms plan to let workers go. For the third quarter, 8 percent said they plan to scale back their staffs, whereas twenty six percent expect to recruit.

Skilled, focused employees were also revealed to be in a superior position than their unskillful counterparts. The survey of 2,662 United States hiring managers had a margin of error of 1.9 percentage points overall.
