IIM-Banglore to return fees for those who chose to work for non profit sectors

INDIAN Institute of Management Bangalore has made a decision to refund costs for any student who selects to work for any not-for-profit organisation for a period of 3 years on a pro-rata basis.Saying this at the 35th yearly convocation, IIM-B director Pankaj Chandra claimed this special program was developed this year for scholars who need to work for the notfor-profit sectors.

He further said : "As committed to the govt, we may meet OBC quota in the approaching academic year". Chandra announced IIM-B has constituted a panel under the chairmanship of professor C Manohar Reddy to study all sides of the post grad program to boost the standard of the program and place it on par with best in the world.

Saying that IIM-B is strongly committed to the philosophy that no student would be denied a possibility to chase the postgraduate program in management for need of financial resources, he revealed it has supplied financial support adding up to about Rs 4.38 crore to 136 scholars during 2009-10. Delivering the director's report, he revealed one hundred firms took part in the recruitment process. Regardless of the results of the industrial slowdown last year, a total of 330 offers were manufactured by participating firms. This includes twenty-four overseas posting offered by eleven corporations.

The IIM-B director related the development of a further three hundred hotel rooms and twenty-four faculty homes is in progress. He said that work on a stateof-the-art lecture room complicated would begin shortly.
